Delhi Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta on Friday flagged off 300 new electric buses, launched a Nanaksar–Ghaziabad inter-state e-bus service, and disbursed over ₹24 crore in EV subsidies to 12,877 beneficiaries via Direct Benefit Transfer at the Indraprastha Bus Depot. Delhi's total bus fleet has now crossed 6,100, with the city rapidly advancing toward its target of 5,000 electric buses. Equipped with CCTV cameras, panic buttons, real-time tracking, and disability-friendly facilities, the new buses mark a significant upgrade to the capital's public transport network. Lieutenant Governor Shri V. K. Saxena and Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta inaugurated the grand 'Shri Parth-Sarathi Rath' at Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg near Delhi Gate, developed by the Public Works Department after seven to eight months of dedicated effort. Constructed using 10 mm thick 316-grade stainless steel plates, the 30 feet by 20 feet structure weighs approximately 5,500 kilograms with a structural life of 50 years. Equipped with 12 spotlights and 12 floodlights for nighttime illumination, the installation is complemented by landscaping and horticulture work in the surrounding area. This artistic landmark strengthens Delhi's cultural identity in the historically significant Delhi Gate area, providing citizens with aesthetically pleasing public spaces.
