Delhi Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta on Monday handed over lease extension certificates and financial assistance to representatives of four gaushalas at the Chief Minister's Jan Seva Sadan, releasing a total of ₹20.26 crore - comprising ₹7.64 crore towards pending liabilities from June 2024 to March 2025 and ₹12.62 crore towards fodder expenses from April 2025 to January 2026. The gaushalas located in Sultanpur Dabas, Rewla Khanpur, Harewali and Surhera - responsible for the care, feeding and medical treatment of stray cattle - also had their long-pending licenses and lease agreements renewed, ensuring uninterrupted food supply, safe shelter and improved veterinary care. The initiative further aims to promote clean energy generation through biogas infrastructure using cow dung, strengthening environmental sustainability across the capital. CM Rekha Gupta announced that 10 modern gaushalas will be developed in the first phase, with plans to equip 40 gaushalas with all necessary facilities in the near future. She emphasised that gaushalas are not merely animal shelters but centres of service and compassion, adding that protecting stray and abandoned cattle in a city like Delhi is a moral responsibility of the government - one that goes beyond financial assistance and reflects a firm commitment to animal rights and humane treatment.

Delhi Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta on Saturday attended the valedictory ceremony of Yashotsav 2026 at Yashobhoomi, Dwarka, felicitating 1,200 top-ranking students with laptops, honouring winners of the Delhi Khel Mahakumbh 2025-26, and recognising 222 high-achieving students from Classes 10 and 12 along with 34 top-performing schools. Addressing the gathering, CM Rekha Gupta highlighted that nearly 9,000 classrooms have been equipped with smart boards in 2025-26, with computer labs set up in 275 schools and digital libraries introduced in 100 schools. She reaffirmed the government's commitment to building a modern digital learning ecosystem aligned with the National Education Policy 2020, ensuring students are prepared for global competition. Under the 'Mukhyamantri Khel Protsahan Yojana', ₹50 crore has been released to support athletes with training and resources. Education Minister Ashish Sood noted that the Delhi Khel Mahakumbh provided a platform to over 25,000 athletes, with incentives of up to ₹7 crore, ₹5 crore and ₹3 crore fixed for Olympic gold, silver and bronze medal winners respectively. Delhi Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta on Tuesday presented an ambitious Budget of ₹1,03,700 crore for 2026-27 — marking a 3.7% increase over the previous year — with Delhi becoming the first state to present a dedicated 'Green Budget', allocating ₹22,236 crore for environmental protection and sustainable development. Education received the largest allocation at ₹19,148 crore, with 1.3 lakh Class 9 girls to receive free bicycles, meritorious Class 10 students to get laptops, and 8,777 new smart classrooms to be added this year. The health sector received ₹12,645 crore, with over 750 new Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, expansion of Ayushman Bharat coverage to 7.5 lakh beneficiaries, and the launch of the 'Anmol' scheme providing free screening of 56 conditions in newborns using a single drop of blood. On transport, the government targets 12,000 e-buses by 2029, with 6,130 new electric buses under the PM e-Drive scheme and two new NaMo Bharat corridors — Delhi-SNB and Delhi-Panipat-Sonepat — expected to cut travel time by up to 60%. Infrastructure sees a major push with 750 km of roads to be redeveloped, 13 mini secretariats across districts, and a 'Bhu-Aadhaar' system to digitise all land records.
