Under Chief Minister Rekha Gupta’s leadership, the Delhi Government has launched a crucial financial support initiative for construction workers impacted by air pollution restrictions under the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP). Recognising the hardships faced during GRAP-III and GRAP-IV periods, when construction activities were suspended to curb pollution, the government announced a compensation of ₹10,000 per registered worker through direct benefit transfer (DBT). This step demonstrates a humane and responsible approach balancing environmental protection measures with labour welfare - ensuring that thousands of daily wage earners receive timely financial relief while the city implements strict anti-pollution actions.
