Rekha Gupta is an active member of Rashtriya Swayam Sewak Sangh (RSS) from the childhhod. Under the guidance of honorable Sh Prem Ji Goyal (RSS Pracharak), she is continuously nurturing her leadership skills. Her political pathway began in the year 1992, when she entered Daulat Ram College, Delhi University and joined Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), a students’ organization. She took active interest in solving the problems faced by her fellow students and emerged as a powerful voice of her college students. Her dynamic approach and relentless efforts for the welfare of students enabled her to become their most popular leader. After consistent student welfare activities, ultimately led her to become the President of Delhi University Student Union (DUSU) in the year 1996-1997. She won the Councilor elections from Uttari Pitampura (Ward 54) in 2007 under the leadership of BJP. She continued her services towards society and was privileged with responsibility of National Executive Member in BJP.

●She is also the BJP State General Secretary Mahila Morcha.
●After her becoming the Municipal Corporator she was also entrusted with the responsibility of the Chairperson of Women Welfare and Child Development Committee MCD for two consecutive years from 2007-2009
●She is also the General Secretary of Delhi state Mahila Morcha BJP-2009
●In March 2010, she was honored with the responsibility of BJP as National Executive Member
Achievements as DUSU President-
●She started the “Common Admission Form” for the first time because of which lakhs of students are getting benefit.
●She initiated and formed the committee against Sexual Harassment and compact campus committee to stop the harassment and eve teasing of girl students and also to check the crimes and misshapenness in campus.
●She initiated and led the moment to highlight the scarcity of “U-special buses” for students and brought all the five major students unions namely; DUSU,JNU(Student Union), Jamiamillia Islamia Students Union, Lal Bahadur Shastri Vidya Peeth Student Union and TIBIA Medical College Student Union on one platform.
●She facilitated and encouraged the regular classes to be taken by the lecturers instead of private tuition
Achievements as Councilor
Rekha Gupta pledges to work with and work for all people of society irrespective of caste, creed, gender, religion, socio-economic status etc.
●In process of achieving the 1st multiutlity comprehensive project in Pitampura, adjacent to CU market. This would eventually be the first Swimming pool, first Gym , first library, first Community Hall etc in Pitampura(Ward 54) and would serve all sections of society including Women/Students/Children, Senior Citizens and underprivileged people.
●Working towards the parking problem in Pitampura, she is developing an comprehensive underground Parking facility (Under RU Block Park)
Following her commitment to upbring atleast 1 Developed Park in every block, she has developed several parks named after Ramayan Charactera
●For the first time, she has developed a Women Park in Pitampura-Sita Vatika(QU Block)
●For the first time, started Councilor administrative office in Haiderpur area to resolve the issues of the people living in majority slum area.
●For the first time, numerous street lights have been installed in Haiderpur area
●Regularly distributing pensions to Poor/Senior Citizens/Widows/Dependable to more than 700 individuals
●Regularly monitoring the condition of streets/roads and developed/repaired cement streets, service lanes, pedestrians etc in the area
●She started the helpline for complaints against sexual harassments for women
●Continuously working with the neglected people of society to give them the sense of individuality and close in the societal differences
●Solving problems faced by several shopkeepers/factory owners due to Delhi Sealing Act
●Continuously working with the other party members to protest against the heavy price rise and inflation concerns
●Allocated several environmental friendly(Battery operated) garbage trucks in Pitampura area to daily pick up door-to-door waste
Chairperson of Women Welfare and Child Development, a MCD committee (Mahia Kalyan evan Bal vikas) and achieved
●She started the “sumedha yojna” which provides cash help to the poor girl child for their higher education.
●She started the pension plan for women who are divorced or living separately after marriage.
●She held various personality development programs for 1st time elected women councilors in which prominent leaders like Smt. Sushma Swaraj and Smt. Krishna Tirath took sessions
●She organized various programs to recognize and reward the brilliant students among 9 lakh students of MCD Schools in Delhi.
●She organized various free health check up camps for women and children all over Delhi
●She ran a campaign all over Delhi to create an awareness of female feticide issue
●She managed various cultural programs and festival celebrations with the motto to keep the Indian Culture and festivities as an integrated part of our Indian Heritage
●She protested against Child Labor and educated poor society to say “No to Child Labor” and initiated several campaigns for the purpose
